Ramona is a combination of family ranches and upscale planned developments. One of the first of these planned developments is known as “The Acres” where roads are still unpaved and well traveled by horses and cars alike. You will recognize the entrance to the area by the landmark row of mailboxes.
Another of the early planned communities is San Diego Country Estates. It boasts of 2 equestrian centers and a pristine golf course. “The Estates” was once an enormous cattle ranch and one can still see remnants of its existence.
If you draw a circle of San Diego County, Ramona will be smack dab in the middle. Within about 40 minutes, residents can travel down to the beach or up to snow capped mountains. Our town offers something for just about anyone… from antique shops, quaint restaurants, parks, riding and hiking trails to equestrian events, little league, soccer and nearby off road vehicle tracks.
Ramona, also know as “The Valley of the Sun”, is spread over 154 square miles and its terrain varies from grasslands to mountains and deep valleys. Single Family Homes in Ramona vary in price from under the county median price to several million dollars.
